Group Personal Accident (GPA) Insurance


Covers full-time and part-time students of Temasek Polytechnic for bodily injuries caused by an accident.

Who is covered?

Registered full-time and part-time local and international students of Temasek Polytechnic up to age 70 years old and who have paid the insurance premium.

What is covered?

  • The insurance pays upon death, disablement and/or bodily injury caused solely and directly by an Accident, subject to the policy limits, terms and conditions.

  • An Accident is defined as a sudden and unforeseen event that solely and independently results in Injury, disablement or death and which is not caused by any illness or medical condition.

  • Territorial Limit – 24 hours worldwide, up to 182 consecutive days at any one time.

 What is not covered? (General Exceptions)

  1. War, declared or undeclared, revolution or warlike operations.

  2. Engaging in naval, military or airforce service or operations except peacetime reservist training under Section 14 of the Enlistment Act, Cap.93 of the Republic of Singapore.

  3. Any wilful or unlawful act, participation in riot, self-inflicted injury, suicide or any attempts thereat, while sane or insane.

  4. Pregnancy, childbirth, abortion, miscarriage and all complications arising from such conditions, except where such treatment is rendered necessary by Injury.

  5. Being under the influence of alcohol or drugs that are not prescribed by a Doctor.

  6. Engaging in racing on wheels.

  7. Any nuclear reaction or contamination, ionising rays or radioactivity.

  8. Part-time students will not be covered for accidents arising out of and in the course of the part-time student’s employment. Part-time students will be covered during internship/attachment.

How to make a claim?

 

Step 1

Complete the Notification of Accident Form and email to MYCG within 30 days of the accident.


Step 2

Prepare/obtain the following documents:

Email the documents to MYCG.

  • For follow-up claims, please email the bills to MYCG and state in the email subject header “Student’s Full Name – TP GPA Follow-up Claim”. If you have received a reply from the insurer, please also include the Claim Reference in the email subject header.

  • Please keep the documents for six (6) months as the insurer may request for them for verification or audit.


Generally, claims will be processed within 30 days after receipt of complete documents and information.

The student will be notified of the result of the claim by email. For approved medical expense claims, the reimbursement will be credited into the student’s bank account.

STUDENTS, PLEASE NOTE:

  1. You have to pay for the visit, like other walk-in patients.

  2. This is not an insurance or managed healthcare scheme.

  3. The preferential rate offered is at the discretion of the clinic. The clinic's decision is final.

  4. MYCG does not have control over the clinic's actions.

  5. Clinics may withdraw from this programme at any time. Please check the Panel Clinic List before your visit in case of changes.

  6. This programme is offered purely as a service. MYCG does not receive any compensation, monetary or otherwise, for your visits to the clinics.
