Group Personal Accident (GPA) Insurance


Covers full-time students of Temasek Polytechnic for bodily injuries caused by an accident.

Who is covered?

Registered full-time students of Temasek Polytechnic who have paid the insurance premium.

What is covered?

  • Covers students for bodily injury caused solely and directly by an accident.

  • An Accident means an unexpected and fortuitous event that solely and independently results in bodily injury and which is not caused by sickness or illness.

  • Territorial Limit – 24 hours worldwide, up to 6 consecutive months whilst overseas.

 

EXTENSIONS

  1. Covers first year students and students-to-be who participate in the freshmen orientation activities organised/approved by the Polytechnic which may be held prior to the period of insurance.

  2. Extends to cover all activities, sports/ competitive sports, events, internships/attachments organised/approved by the Polytechnic and its clubs and/or in which the student participates as a representative of the Polytechnic (all other policy terms and conditions continue to apply).

  3. Extends to cover Polytechnic organised/approved activities in relation to air travel and/or technical activities in connection with an aircraft including students working as crew members on aeroplanes or vessels during internship/attachment and/or students taking flying lessons as part of coursework.

  4. Riot, strike, civil commotion, hijack, murder, assault

  5. Suffocation by smoke, poisonous fumes, gas and drowning

  6. Exposure

  7. Disappearance

  8. Motorcycling (as a rider or a pillion-rider)

  9. Terrorism

  10. Reservist training

  11. Automatic addition and deletion clause

 

What is not covered? (General Exceptions)

  1. War, declared or undeclared, revolution or warlike operations.

  2. Engaging in naval, military or airforce service or operations except peacetime reservist training under Section 14 of the Enlistment Act, Cap.93 of the Republic of Singapore.

  3. Any willful or unlawful act, participation in riot, self-inflicted injury, suicide or any attempts thereat, while sane or insane.

  4. Pregnancy, childbirth, abortion, miscarriage and all complications arising from such conditions, except where such treatment is rendered necessary by Injury.

  5. Whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs that are not prescribed by a qualified medical practitioner.

  6. Insured Person engaging in racing on wheels.

How to make a claim?

 

Step 1

Complete the Notification of Accident Form and fax/email to MYCG within 30 days of the accident.


Step 2

Prepare/obtain the following documents:

          
      H&S - Hospitalisation & Surgery
      GR - Government/Restructured Hospital eg. SGH, NUH, TTSH

Step 3

If the total claim is $500 or lower, email the documents to MYCG.

  • For follow-up claims, please email the bills to MYCG and state in the email subject header “Student’s Full Name – TP GPA Follow-up Claim”.
  • Please keep the documents for one (1) year as the insurer may request for them for verification or audit.

 

Step 4

If the total claim is more than $500, post the documents to MYCG.

  • For follow-up claims, please post the original bills to MYCG with a note attached stating “Follow-up Claim”, the “Student’s Full Name” and “TP”.
  • Keep a copy for your records.

Generally, claims will be processed within 30 days after receipt of complete documents and information.

The student will be notified of the result of the claim by email. For approved medical expense claims, the reimbursement will be credited into the student’s bank account.

STUDENTS, PLEASE NOTE:

  1. You have to pay for the visit, like other walk-in patients.

  2. This is not an insurance or managed healthcare scheme.

  3. The preferential rate offered is at the discretion of the clinic. The clinic's decision is final.

  4. MYCG does not have control over the clinic's actions.

  5. Clinics may withdraw from this programme at any time. Please check the Panel Clinic List before your visit in case of changes.

  6. This programme is offered purely as a service. MYCG does not receive any compensation, monetary or otherwise, for your visits to the clinics.
