The insurance covers reasonable expenses incurred for medically necessary outpatient (as specified in the table of benefits), hospitalisation and/or surgery treatment of illness or injury in a Singapore Government Restructured Hospital subject to the policy limits, terms and conditions.

Territorial Limit – 24 hours worldwide for emergency treatment for accident or acute illness while overseas where immediate medical attention is required (does not cover non-emergency, elective and/or intentionally booked treatment overseas).
Medical expenses incurred in an overseas hospital will be limited to similar treatment in a B1 ward at Singapore General Hospital.

A LOG is a document issued by the insurer to guarantee hospitalisation/surgery expenses. It is not valid for pre or post hospitalisation/surgery or outpatient expenses. With a LOG, the hospital will waive the cash deposit and payment of the hospital bill up to the policy limits and subject to the policy terms and conditions. The hospital will bill the insurer directly. The student will have to pay to the hospital any amount not covered by the insurance after the hospital bill is finalised.

The LOG is not applicable for treatment outside Singapore. For treatment overseas, please pay first and submit a claim for reimbursement.
Complete this form and submit to MYCG at least 5 working days before the scheduled hospital admission/surgery. For emergency admission, please contact MYCG as soon as possible.

Copy of *Financial Counselling/ Admission Form/ Estimated Bill/ Day Surgery Authorisation Form
*The hospital will give these documents to the patient when the admission date is confirmed/during the financial counselling session. The documents will contain the estimated bill, diagnosis and treatment information - this information is required to process the LOG.
The LOG will be emailed to the hospital 1 day prior to admission after it is approved by the insurer. A copy will be emailed to the student.
Important!
Please note that issuance of the LOG does that guarantee that the medical expenses are covered. The LOG is issued for the student's convenience so that he/she does not have to pay the deposit/bill on discharge . The student must submit the full claim documents for the insurer to review after discharge from the hospital. If the claim is not admissible, the student must pay the hospital or reimburse the insurer.

Please note that the list of documents above is not exhaustive. Other documents may be required after the insurer has assessed the claim.

Email the documents to groupclaim@income.com.sg and cc claims@mycg.com.sg.
Note:
Original invoices and receipts must be kept for 6 months from the date of treatment and provided to the insurer on request.
Generally, claims will be processed within 30 days upon receipt of complete documents/ information.
Notification of the result of the claim or request for documents/information will be sent to the student’s email address stated on the claim form.
Approved medical expense claims will be credited into the student’s bank account.

The GHSI covers treatment at a Singapore Government/Restructured Hospital and/or Specialist Outpatient Clinic. Please note that treatment at PRIVATE Hospitals will not be covered except under the Outpatient Extension (Clinical Attachment) benefit for students whose attachment is at a private hospital.

Important - Please note that the following are NOT COVERED:
Some hospitals (eg. KK Hospital) may have both an A&E Department and a 24 hour walk-in clinic. The A&E staff may also refer you to the 24 hour walk-in clinic. Please note that treatment at the 24 hour walk-in clinic (a specialist clinic) is not covered without a referral.
Some specialist centres (eg. SNEC) may operate clinics at a Private Hospital (eg. Gleneagles Hospital). Please note that treatment at a Private Hospital Clinic is not covered.
