What is covered?

 

  • Covers students for bodily injury caused solely by an accident and not by sickness, disease or gradual physical or mental wear and tear.
  • An Accident means an unexpected and fortuitous event that solely and independently results in bodily injury and which is not caused by sickness or illness.
  • Territorial Limit – 24 hours worldwide for emergency treatment for accident while overseas where immediate medical attention is required (does not cover non-emergency, elective and/or intentionally booked treatment overseas) up to 6 consecutive months while overseas

Covers treatment by a General Practitioner (GP) for Bodily Injury and Sickness at AXA's Panel Clinics, Polyclinics and Singapore Government Restructured Hospital A&E.

Covers treatment by a General Practitioner (GP) for Bodily Injury and Sickness at AXA's Panel Clinics, Polyclinics and Singapore Government Restructured Hospital A&E.

What is covered?

  • Covers treatment at a Panel GP Clinic or Polyclinic.
  • Covers GP consultation, prescribed medication and simple tests (eg. x-ray and lab tests).
  • Student may have to pay a surcharge for visits after normal clinic operating hours. Please check with the clinic.
  • Covers visit to A&E at a Singapore Government Restructured Hospital up to $110 per visit.

 

For Referrals to a Singapore Government Restructured Hospital for Specialist Treatment and/or Hospitalisation/Surgery:

  • If you are referred by a Panel GP Clinic, you are considered a Private patient;
  • To qualify as a subsidised patient, you must be a Singaporean or Singapore PR, referred by a Polyclinic or A&E of a Singapore Government Restructured Hospital and without reference to a Specialist by name.

  • Please note that the list of panel clinics may be updated periodically. Please check this website for the latest list before you visit the clinic. You may also wish to contact the clinic before visiting in case there is a change in operating hours.
  • Please note that the insurer, AXA, has different panel of clinics for different clients. Please do not download the SIT's List of Panel GP Clinics from any other source except this website, as it may not be the correct list.
  • Please bring your SIT Matriculation Card and your NRIC/FIN Card when you visit the panel clinic and show it to the clinic staff. Otherwise, you will have to pay first and submit a claim for processing.

What is covered?

  • 24 hours worldwide for emergency treatment for accident or acute illness while overseas where immediate medical attention is required (does not cover non-emergency, elective and/or intentionally booked treatment overseas except in the international student’s home country).
  • Medical expenses incurred in an overseas hospital will be limited to reasonable and customary cost of equivalent treatment in a B1 ward at Singapore General Hospital.

To apply for proof of insurance for visa application, please

  1. Complete the "Apply for Proof of Insurance" online form and
  2. Email the Official SIT Student Status Letter stating  to customercare@mycg.com.sg.

We will forward the document to you within 3 working days after verification with SIT.

If you need to make a claim, please download  the Claim Procedure & Form. It is important to read through the Document Checklist to be aware of the documents required in event of a loss. Some documents must be obtained within 24 hours of loss while overseas.

Letter of Guarantee (LOG)


A LOG is a document issued by the insurer for hospitalisation and/or surgery. With a LOG, the hospital will waive the cash deposit and payment of the hospital bill up to the limits of the insurance and subject to the policy terms and conditions. The hospital will bill the insurer directly.

Apply for LOG

 

  • The LOG is only applicable under the Group Hospitalisation & Surgical Insurance (GHS).
  • The LOG is not applicable for treatment outside Singapore.
  • For treatment overseas, please pay first and submit a claim for reimbursement.
  • Please note that LOG will not be issued for medical treatment that is not covered or if the required medical information cannot be obtained prior to hospital admission.
  • For emergencies, please contact MYCG immediately or pay the bill first and submit the claim later.

 

Step 1

Complete this form and submit to MYCG at least 5 working days before the scheduled hospital admission/surgery. For emergency admission, please contact MYCG as soon as possible.

Step 2

Upload these documents:

  1. Completed Release of Medical Information Form (ROMIF) →

  2. Copy of Referral Letter from GP to Specialist, written Test Reports etc. if any

  3. Copy of *Financial Counselling/ Admission Form/ Day Surgery Authorisation Form

*The hospital will give these documents to the patient when the admission date is confirmed/during the financial counselling session. The documents will contain the estimated bill, diagnosis and treatment information - this information is required to process the LOG.

Step 3

The LOG will be faxed to the hospital 1 to 2 days prior to admission after it is approved by the insurer. A copy will be emailed to the student - please print and bring to the hospital on the day of admission.

 

Step 4

Upon discharge from the hospital, please email the Inpatient Discharge Summary and any pre and post-hospitalisation/surgery bills to MYCG.

How to make a claim?

 

Step 1

Prepare/obtain the following documents:

      GPA - Group Personal Accident Insurance
      GHS - Group Hospitalisation & Surgical Insurance
      H&S - Hospitalisation & Surgery
      LOG - Letter of Guarantee

Step 2

  • Please email the claim documents to MYCG. Please keep the original documents for up to one (1) year in case the insurer may require for verification or audit.
  • If you are submitting a claim under the Group Hospitaisation & Surgical (GHS) Insurance and did not apply for LOG, please submit the original Final Hospital Bill by post to MYCG.

Generally, claims will be processed within 30 days after receipt of complete documents and information.

The student will be notified of the result of the claim by email. For approved medical expense claims, the reimbursement will be credited into the student’s bank account.


FOLLOW-UP CLAIMS

Please email the Follow-up Claim Form and Bills to MYCG. Please keep the original documents for up to one (1) year in case the insurer may require for verification or audit.
